I used the LP version because it took less time to load, once started when changing workbenchs it was also faster, and it seemed to me that in general it was more fluid. So looking for information I got here and after reading this interesting thread everything was clear to me. I was also surprised by that other Glider workbench. What a surprise when I saw Assembly 3, I thought: how fast it was this last month!!!, everything is already merged. I update them periodically, I do manual installations, that is, I only download the binaries.Īfter a month without using Feecad, the first thing I did was update and this time I wanted to try Conda version. I use FreeCAD in windows with the LP version and Link-Asm3 version. I guess the answer is the Conda version and LP version use the same FreeCAD source, for a given version, but get all the dependencies from a different "package manager" Neither will be included in an official stable release. Glider is a packaging exercise/experiment because of it's complicated dependency structure. I haven't found a good way to automate this.Īs far as asm3, the reason for this is we have a custom built solvespace that make installation possible. I have been looking for a way to document the used dependencies for both, it's like About FreeCAD on steroids. But is working on a new Libpack that will leap frog many packages. ![]() At the moment the Conda dependencies lead the LP versions. Conda is maintained by a community and package upgrades are continuous. ![]() The library version differences are much greater than just OCCT. Shouldn't any actual differences be also mentioned? Like that Conda build contains now the Assembl圓 and Glider WB? And that Conda is OCCT 7.4.0 and LP is OCCT 7.3.0?

![]() Instead of dumping one memory segment, you have to dump all 20+ of them and then figure out how they fit together - like a big jigsaw puzzle. The fact that Poison Ivy spreads itself across more than two dozen small memory segments definitely does not make it more stealthy (now there are 20+ suspicious memory regions instead of just one), but it does make reversing/analysis more challenging. ![]() Its easy to locate, extract, and analyze. Why so many, you may ask? Malware like Zeus, Carberp, Cridex, Shylock and many others allocate a single segment large enough to hold everything (the code, strings, function call tables, etc). In the original post we briefly mentioned that malfind identified 20+ different memory segments in explorer.exe (pid 1096) that contained injected code. To do this, we'll write a custom Volatility plugin to reassemble Poison Ivy's fragmented code injection model, bypass the anti-disasm tricks, and label imported functions even in the absence of a PE header and Import Address Table (IAT). Only then will we have complete closure and reassurance. This is all pretty solid, but from a malware analysis perspective - code or it didn't happen! In this post we'll dig even deeper and find the exact instructions that reference the strings. We found strings in memory, such as the mutex name, the registry Run key, and the svchosts.exe file name then we backed up the findings by tracking the mutex to its owning process, verifying the Run key was created by looking in the cached registry hive, and checking the svchosts.exe file existed by scanning for MFT records in memory. ![]() In the initial post we covered the basics - the what, the when, and the how. Most of these matched what we’ve seen before (i.e., Winter2018) but added extra characters such as two exclamation marks at the end to meet the minimum length requirement. Just to see the seasonal counts, I did a case-sensitive search for each of the seasons and found the following: We still see that people use their company’s name and a variation of “password.” The only thing that didn’t jump into our top 10 was the season/year, likely because these passwords weren’t long enough or had a lot of variations. So, to answer Aaron’s question, not much changes. These are commonly either the two- or four-digit year, or simply “123”. People are still using an uppercase letter for their first character, then a series of lowercase letters, then finishing with a number of digits. The pattern holds up, exactly as we’ve seen before. The following are the top three patterns found: When looking at our current data set, we can see these patterns have not changed. In a prior blog post around password security best practices, I noted that we commonly see the first character is an uppercase letter followed by a number of lowercase letters, then two or four digits as the final characters. Next, I looked at the patterns we see with regard to character position. ![]() The rest drift off into fractions of a percent, but the point is the majority of people will meet exactly the minimum requirement. When analyzing our 12-character data set, we see the same result: Not only that, but the minimum length occurs in more than half of the cracked passwords. When we analyze sets of cracked passwords, we notice that the most common password length is very often the minimum required length. The “q” and “a” keys are under the “1.” The “w” and “s” keys are under the “2,” the “e” and “d” keys are under the “3,” and the “r” and “f” keys are under the “4.” This is a common pattern we see, along with additional keyboard walks such as “asdfjkl ” or “asdfghjkl ”. Look at the keyboard and start with the “1,” then look down. This is what is referred to as a “keyboard walk.” This means people are using keys next to each other in the keyboard, which makes the password appear random but is easier for them to remember. If the seventh most common password doesn’t immediately stand out and appears random, it’s actually not. ![]() The fifth and ninth most common came from a company that was likely involved with hair care. ![]() The third most common password was “Password,” but with a variation to meet the longer password requirement: adding the “123!”. Apparently only three have gotten to the James Bond level, with “007” appended. To test this theory, I searched the list for additional increments and sure enough, the same company had 11 instances of “003”, six instances of “004”, seven instances of “005”, and four instances of “006”. It is possible that the “001” value was the default password new accounts received, then users bumped up the value. 6 passwords were from the same company and had the same value under the Xs: the company name. Here are the top 10 most common passwords, with an “X” replacing characters in a company name and matching case: The results were interesting: Two out of the three most common passwords still existed! Next, I used Pipal, a password-analyzing tool, to find the 10 most common passwords. The result was a total of 37,888 passwords. I ran through all the cracked password lists and extracted those that were at least 12 characters long. The answer is a little bit, but not much. On penetration tests, the three most common passwords are a variation of company name, the season/year, and a variation of “password.” But what happens if we lengthen the password requirement? He wanted to know what passwords look like when they are 12 characters or longer. He has noticed on his penetration testing service engagements that some clients have changed their domain password policy’s minimum length to be 12 characters, instead of the eight we more commonly see. I’m always open to suggestions for new things to research with regard to the passwords we’ve cracked, and this one came from my Rapid7 colleague Aaron Herndon. In this blog, we’ll take a deeper dive into the strength of longer passwords. These password trends are uncovered by the many penetration testing service engagements we perform. In previous posts, we’ve looked at the the most common passwords people use in a company environment, default passwords set for new employees, and password patterns. It appears dark only because of the flash shadow. Esoterics X-05 looks and plays massive particularly in the soundstaging and bass disciplines. I have for the time being decided not to pursue this path. Word clock input is included for synchronization with the matching D-05, D/A audio converter or with any of Esoterics stand alone master clock generators. Very good condition (there's a small ding on the top cover see photo. You will never know the quality of your gear until you try it with a good clock. Pair this unit with any digital device that accepts a clock. Now, this was a bit of a disappointment… Yes, there was a similar improvement, but not as big as I remembered it with the Scarlatti clock. For all of you fortunate to have digital equipment with clock input, it will never be said enough how much difference a good clock makes, and how great an upgrade it is. Now in its second iteration, Esoterics top level word clock is the sensational Grandioso G1X. Figuring that not everyone would plunk down 57,000 all at once, I first reviewed the Grandioso K1 alone. So I sold the Scarlatti together with the Puccini and decided to try the Rossini clock. I received review samples of Esoteric’s Grandioso K1 SACD/CD player and DAC (31,000 USD) and G1 master clock generator (26,000) at the same time. ![]() So it would only make sense if I would either mannualy switch or accept that it is only going to improve one base rate (e.g. One problem: the Scarlatti clock doesn’t provide the two base rates at the same time and the Rossini has no means to direct the clock to switch between one of them. I have initially tested with and without masterclock using the Scarlatti and agree with the descriptions given by some other contributors here: it was a noticeable improvement, not shocking, but even more so when taken out of the equation again. ![]() ![]() When I bought my current Rossini player I still had my old setup, consisting of a Puccini player and a Scarlatti clock, available.
